이가연, 성신여자대학교 동아시아연구소 연구교수
I study the impact of advances in science and technology on the global order and the Korean Peninsula. From the perspectives of international political economy and political philosophy, my research examines the formation and transformation of international order. My work focuses on three core questions: Who makes the rules (rule-makers)? Under what conditions do rules and norms change? And how is science and technology reshaping the world?
After receiving an M.A. in North Korean Studies from Chung-Ang University, I was selected in 2014 as a Chinese Government Scholarship student by the Government of the Republic of Korea (National Institute for International Education). I was assigned to Jilin University in China, where I majored in International Politics and received my PhD. in December 2019.
Recently, my interests have focused on analyzing the relationship among empire-building, the formation of modern states, and capitalism from a political-theoretical perspective. I am also expanding my research agenda to explore how advances in science and technology reshape political and economic orders, social structures, and their implications for the Korean Peninsula.
과학기술 발전이 세계 질서와 한반도에 미치는 영향을 연구합니다. 국제정치경제와 정치철학의 시각에서 국제질서의 형성과 변동을 연구하고 있습니다. 저의 연구는 주로 “누가 규칙을 만드는가(Rule-maker)?”와 “어떤 조건에서 규칙과 규범이 변화하는가?” “과학기술은 세계를 어떻게 바꾸고 있나?”라는 질문에 기반합니다.
중앙대학교에서 북한학 석사학위를 취득한 후, 2014년 대한민국 정부(국립국제교육원) 중국 정부 초청 장학생으로 선발되었습니다. 중국 길림대학교로 배정받아 국제정치학을 전공하였으며, 2019년 12월 국제정치학 박사학위를 받았습니다.
최근 관심사는 제국 및 근대 국가 형성과 자본주의의 관계를 정치학 이론의 관점에서 분석하는 것이며, 과학기술 발전이 정치·경제 질서와 사회 구조, 그리고 한반도에 미치는 영향을 주요 연구 주제로 확장하고 있습니다.
